Keyword Preview Window and saving credits
Learn about the Keyword Preview Window and how to save credits
When you perform a search, Keyword Chef will find keywords and show you the Keyword Preview Window.
The Keyword Preview Window shows you a sample of the keywords found and allows you to filter out keywords before you decide to spend credits.
Depending on whether or not you use the Wildcard Search (learn more about keyword categories), the Keyword Preview Window will look slightly different.
Note: Filtering by SERP Score or volume is not available in the Keyword Preview Window. This is because there are costs in getting this data and would be too expensive as the user may wish to cancel their search.
Wildcard Search
The Keyword Preview Window for the Wildcard category will show you a list of keywords and give you two filtering options, Exact Match and Exact Match + Similar.
Exact Match: This option will return matches that match the wildcard search term exactly. These keywords are indicated with a solid circle.
Exact Match + Similar: This option returns Exact Matches and matches that are Similar but don't watch the wildcard search term exactly. These keywords are indicated by a white circle.
Regular Search (non wildcard)
The Keyword Preview Window for the regular search will allow you to filter out keywords that contain specific words.
To filter out keywords, select keywords on the left. Clicking a word will turn it red and filter out all keywords that contain that particular word. The cost of the credits will also be updated for that search.
You can also add your own words by clicking the + symbol. In this example, we are adding a new filter for "wendy's":
Using negative words in search
You can also add your own negative words by adding the minus symbol (-) when you initially search for keywords, such as cooking -chicken -pasta:
Once you are happy with the keywords, click Get Keywords, which will spend your credits. If you decide to cancel your search, no credits will be used.
